After this customer saw the rock band t-shirt quilt I had made, she knew she needed to have these made with her children's clothes that they have out grown. She has 3 little girls so she had lots of clothes they had all worn and now out grown. She brought me a huge bag full of old shirts and I cut them up into quilt patches, we had enough patches to make 2 single bed quilts. I added some sashing between the rows to make the quilt long enough to fit a single bed which added a design to the quilt. The quilts are backed with a floral cotton and have a thick layer of batting between the front and back to make them soft and warm.
When the customer took the quilts home to show her girls they loved them! They remembered all the special events they wore the outfits to, and it brought back great memories. A lot of the shirts had a special meaning to them like "baby's first Christmas", "daddy's little girl", and "mommy loves you". They thought the quilts were so great that I am now working on a third one for them. These quilts are a great way to preserve memories into something you can still use and look at everyday.

Sometimes when a bride is planning her wedding she has a theme that she wants to carry throughout the entire wedding or she can envision every little detail of her wedding, and it would make it a perfect day if everything could look like how she envisions. I had a bride who was planning her wedding with a country picnic theme. She really wanted red checkered bridesmaid dresses but of course could not find dresses that unique in a bridal boutique. So, she came to me to get the job done. She just wanted something simple, nothing over the top. Together we came up with this simple strapless A-line dress with a touch of lace at the waist. The dresses turned out great and fit in to the theme of her wedding perfectly. |
